When you are deciding to purchase lighting for your home, chandeliers may not be a part of lighting options you have considered. Ornate, crystal chandeliers are usually the first type of chandeliers that people think of when you mention them. But these sparkling hanging lights are not the only style chandeliers available - not by a long shot.
The vintage and traditional type of chandeliers use candle lights or incandescent lights for illuminations and have yellow-tinted illumination, while modern chandeliers have fluorescent or LED light bulbs and give bright white luminescence. Lighting chandeliers with candle lights is not practically possible on an everyday basis, hence, modern chandeliers have electric bulbs that are designed to look like candle lights.
From the central fixture, the chandelier arms extend outward to serve as bases for light bulbs, candles and ornaments. They are usually made from the same materials as the base (metal, brass or wood). In the case of antler chandeliers, it is the deer antlers themselves that serve as the lighting fixture's arms. The styles of chandelier arms also vary, including S-shaped, fluted, or roped design.
Aside from online shopping, you can look for cheap chandeliers in light and lamp stores in your area. Some of these stores often hold surplus and clearance sales. These sales are for the purpose of clearing away old stocks for new items that will be arriving. They also serve to clear out chandeliers that have minute manufacturing errors, such as fixtures that have been made in the wrong size or color.
