Guest bedrooms should have at least one bedside lamp but one on either side is really cool. If there are twin beds in single room, one bedside lamp on each side is definitely necessary. Even if the lamp is placed in between the two beds, each bed occupant should have an option to operate their own lamp which is quite convenient.
For the living room, choose a lamp shade made of fabric or slightly opaque paper to provide warm glow in the room. If to be placed near a television, an opaque shade can be chosen to reduce glare. For a modern look, drum shades may be used and if traditional look is preferred, conical shades are recommended. For reading purposes, the lamp's bulb must be at least 60 Watts; a dimmer or three0way bulb can be used for modulating the brightness.
There are tons of table lamp options on the market and off the market these days. Rather than describe all of the lamps in the world (who would read that much) we have decided to break things down into four categories of table lamps. We did all of that just for you to get a feel for things. No, no need to thank us, just doing our job.
There are mission inspired lamps that feature amber glass throughout the lamp, even the shade is made of amber glass, and often there is a light bulb within the base itself that allows for the entire lamp to be lit with a warm tan colored glow both within and without. The base as mentioned can be lit, thus often can be used as a nightlight.
